“हम अपने लिए नहीं, अपनों के लिए हैं, अपने वे हैं जो सदियों से पीड़ित एवं उपेक्षित हैं।”  यह कथन है युगदृष्टा चिंतक नानाजी देशमुख का। वो किसी बात को केवल कहते ही नहीं थे वरन उसे कार्यरूप में परिवर्तित भी करते थे। आधुनिक युग के इस दधीचि का पूरा जीवन ही एक प्रेरक कथा है। विविध गुणों एवं बहुमुखी प्रतिभा के धनी नानाजी देशमुख का पूरा नाम चण्डीदास अमृतराव उपाध्याय नानाजी देशमुख था। इनका जन्म 11 अक्टूबर सन 1916 को बुधवार के दिन महाराष्ट्र के हिंगोली जिले के एक छोटे से गांव कडोली में हुआ था। इनके पिता का नाम अमृतराव देशमुख था तथा माता का नाम राजाबाई था। नानाजी के दो भाई एवं तीन बहने थीं। नानाजी जब छोटे थे तभी इनके माता-पिता का देहांत हो गया। बचपन गरीबी एवं अभाव में बीता। वे बचपन से ही राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ की दैनिक शाखा में जाया करते थे। बाल्यकाल में सेवा संस्कार का अंकुर यहीं फूटा। जब वे 9वीं कक्षा में अध्ययनरत थे, उसी समय उनकी मुलाकात संघ के संस्थापक डा. हेडगेवार से हुई। डा. साहब इस बालक के कार्यों से बहुत प्रभावित हुए। मैट्रिक की पढ़ाई पूरी होने पर डा. हेडगेवार ने नानाजी को आ...
